Before you contact us, please understand that Carolina Animal Protection Society is currently unable to accept any new animals due to a shortage of foster homes. If you are trying to find a new home for your pet, please consider the following suggestions:
- Ask a trusted friend or neighbor if they will adopt your pet
- Post flyers in multiple places, such as work, church, grocery stores, vet clinics, pet stores, and any other place that has a bulletin board
- Place an ad in your local newspaper or social media site such as Facebook
- Contact other pet rescue groups to see if they will take in your pet
If you need to place your pet at the local animal shelter, this should be your last resort as the shelter is severely overburdened. As a courtesy to your pet and others living at the shelter, please ensure your pet is current on flea-prevention medication. You will need to bring all medical records with you to ensure your pet has a good chance of finding a new home more quickly.
As a safety measure, please be careful to whom you give your pet. Be sure the new owner is willing to assume mature responsibility when it comes to proper caring, feeding, and loving your pet. Ask them questions! Visit their homes!
