Copper

Copper is a 6-year old Vizsla/Labrador Mix. He was originally picked up in Duplin County and through the magic of rescue made his way to the CAPS program. He is an energetic boy who will benefit from a family who enjoys the outdoors. Copper originally tested positive for heartworm disease, but after a lengthy treatment, he is now heartworm free!

Copper will do best in a home without any other pets or small children. Copper has a very high prey drive and will chase any squirrel or cat that crosses his path. He is crate trained, current on his vaccines, and neutered.
 
His right front paw suffers from an abnormality that he was born with. While his paw may look strange, it does not slow Copper down at all. A veterinarian who examined him stated Copper is fine the way he is. If you are looking for an active canine companion to jog with or take trips to the beach, Copper could be your guy.
